Frozen Commons expedition in Khövsgöl aimag, Mongolia

In March 2024 Frozen Commons team members organized knowledge sharing gathering with scholars, artists and knowledge holders in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, in collaboration with the Institute of Geography and Geoecology Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS), ArtSLInK and Arctic Indigenous Virtual Artists Network (AIVAN).  After the meeting, team members Vera Kuklina, Alexander Kholodov, and Mariia Kuklina together with an artist Olga Lo and regional partners DRs. Enkh-Amgalan Sandag and Khadbaatar Sandag travelled to the Khovsgol aimag. They participated in workshops in Bulgan and Moron and field studies: gathered interviews and observations, took coring samples, and presented the project  Indigenous knowledge holders, artists, and local and regional stakeholders. In addition, Alexander Kholodov worked with community members to install weather stations, Olga Lo organized arts master classes for school children.
